A talented and dedicated public relations professional, Kristie Aylett,
APR, has 20 years of experience helping organizations communicate
more effectively. She has developed strategic communications plans,
garnered extensive media coverage, produced marketing materials,
coordinated special events, and a host of other communications
activities.

Her background in agency, higher education, health care and
municipal environments brings a well-rounded perspective to her
work with KARD Group clients. Her insight into the media comes from
her experience as a journalist for an ABC affiliate, a semi-weekly
newspaper, a daily collegiate newspaper, a monthly subscription
magazine and a radio station.

In addition to her expertise in PR strategies, Aylett has experience in
emergency preparedness and crisis communications response.  As
a member of Fort Worth’s public information staff, Aylett was on the
emergency operations team for two high-profile situations that
focused international media attention on the city.

In September 1999, a gunman killed seven church-goers during a
youth celebration at a local church, and a tornado struck downtown
Fort Worth in the spring of 2000, killing five and causing more than
$300 million in property damage. Her crisis communications experience
also includes managing the media for smaller scale incidents, such as
escaped prisoners, disease outbreaks, and dog attacks.

Aylett graduated with honors from Texas Christian University in Fort
Worth, where she earned undergraduate and graduate degrees.  She
joined the journalism faculty at her alma mater in 2000 as an adjunct
instructor, teaching public relations writing to senior-level students for
two years.  She now teaches public relations courses periodically at
the Mississippi coast campus of Tulane University.

An accredited public relations practitioner, Aylett is actively involved in
community organizations and advancing the public relations
profession. She was among the inaugural group of young community
and business leaders honored as the “40 under 40” by the Fort Worth
Business Press in 2002.  In 2009, the Southern Public Relations
Federation and the Public Relations Association of Mississippi both
recognized Aylett's career achievements and her dedication to the
profession with their highest individual honor, the Professional
Achievement Award. Her work is regularly honored in industry
competitions.
